Dreams are visions of the future where the deepest longings of the heart are obscurely confined.

People, no matter what life stage or status they are in, always have this question in mind: “What if?”. The feeling doesn’t stem entirely from greed or selfishness, I suppose. It is a yearning for growth, for self-actualization, to manifest a life lived in fullness.

In the conduct of our daily affairs, we easily fall into routines that sometimes feel like the days go on and on without pause. We try to ‘slay the day’ as if life is a beast that needs to be tamed or conquered. We automatically go on full battle mode as if some tribute let loose in an arena on a quest for glory and recognition. But who or what is it really that we are pitting against?

Learn to showcase your higher self.
Be on top of your game.

Decisions determine the course of our days. But there are times that circumstances lead us to choices that we neither desired nor planned for ourselves. This could either lead to misery or become a stroke of luck that opens to that elusive breakthrough. How do we manifest then the desire to achieve a better life when it begins to run in the opposite course?

1. Focus on Your Goal

Visualize your shining, shimmering, splendid future self. Not that you’re living a lousy life today, okay. But think in detail how you want to evolve in the coming years. What are the things that you are doing now that will help you manifest and grow to become that type of person? Do you have the right attitude? Do you possess the skills required for that dream job? Is it what you really want in life or are you just being a copycat?

There is no written manual on how to score life goals. The road to achieving a dream is not a paved straight line, else it’ll be called a destination. Take detours if you must but never lose sight of that goal.

2. Each Setback is a Stepping Stone

Now you might be thinking, “But I just lost my job!” or “I am in a huge debt right now. How can you say that?” or “Someone in my family got of COVID-19 and people are avoiding us”. Yep, those are pretty good examples of “when life gives you lemons” stuff but don’t get me wrong. I’m not telling you to live in a bubble and pretend that it doesn’t cause you pain. My point is, these are the kinds of situations that call for extraordinary effort on your part. These are the moments when you will actually need to gear up to, yes indeed, “Slay the day!” When we bleed and yet we steel our resolves to move on or to fight back is the golden moment that we reveal to the world what we are truly capable of.

Wounds are symbols of battles won. And pain teaches unforgettable life lessons.

3. Time is a Limited Resource

You do not arrive at your destination on the day you thought of it. Every day is preparation day – planning, testing, revising, evaluating. You get ready as you go.

Find a good mentor who will be patient enough to instill in you the fundamentals of your art and cultivate your understanding. A well-grounded knowledge will help you flourish and give you the confidence to express ideas with unbounded creativity. Constantly practice even when you can’t find inspiration. Perseverance will eventually mold you to become an astute person with a flair of panache.

Observe your competitors and learn from them. But know that engaging too much in the competition can also be a distraction. Do not forget that there will always be others who will be better than you. Do not let this embitter you for each person has a gift that only their unique selves can give to the world. Your efforts will bear fruit in due time.

Your higher self is the best version of yourself. The diligent effort that you take for self-improvement is the ultimate act of self-love. Living is not merely surviving. The world needs people who shine their light so brightly.

The world needs the best version of you.
